Thatcham Vision Steering Group

The purpose of the Steering Group is to oversee the implementation of the Thatcham Vision Parish Plan. This is being done by working with our ‘action group’ volunteers, other voluntary groups, the local community, local and national organisations, trusts and charities, Thatcham Town Council and West Berkshire Council.

Along with our Marketing Team, we identify and apply for sources of funding to support the actions and projects in the plan and we facilitate activities and events in the town to enhance the lives of those who live, work and visit here.

David Conquest (Chair)

David grew up in Thatcham, attending Kennet School and Sixth Form before graduating in Computer Science and then working in the software and Internet industry. Work has taken him to a variety of places including a few years living in London, Washington D.C. and Johannesburg. He has a background in product management and marketing applied to designing new online services and taking them to market, most recently as Marketing and Channel Director for a software start-up company.

David hopes to use his experience of developing and promoting services to help push Thatcham's potential both socially and economically. He has family in the town, has been the Marketing Officer for Thatcham Vision since 2013 and is also the Chairman of Thatcham Fairtrade.
