New Community Website Takes Off

New community website is really taking off Thatcham Vision's new website for the community ( www.thatchamvision.net ) is starting to get a lot of attention in the town. Since its launch on 12 th July it has been showing what a community driven approach can achieve by publishing articles and events written by residents and volunteers, covering topics as diverse as advise for senior citizen, community safety information and sports events. Research into Noticeboards to Inform Choices and Location

Community Safety Target 001: Community Noticeboards The Action Group decided some time ago to do some research into the present situation concerning Noticeboards around Thatcham. Lorri Stennett-Dow, a Group member, volunteered to take photographs of Thatcham's various noticeboards. Firstly, she found it quite hard to find them all and had to contact the Town Council to be sure of the various locations. Edible Thatcham coming of age!

Jason Collis leads the campaign we call 'Edible Thatcham'. “The aim is to show our community that food, (the stuff of life) is all around us and actually closer than you might think. We are all concerned that we know where our food comes from, how it looks before it gets to the Supermarket and how you might grow some of your own”. The Childcare and Early Years Learning Action Group Have Got Started

The Childcare And Early Year's Action Group have started working on an action from the Thatcham Vision Plan to 'Provide shade in play areas across Thatcham'. We are investigating the different play parks in the area and will be making contact with either West Berkshire Council or Thatcham Town Council, the two governing bodies who run the parks, to work together to create suitable shaded areas across all parks.
